Learning German should be effective – and enjoyable. At speakeasy Vienna, we have a clear goal: using practical, communicative teaching methods, we help you make rapid and lasting progress. Our focus isn’t on rote memorization but on actively using the language in real-life situations – whether in everyday life, at work, or at university.

Our school deliberately stands out from traditional language institutes. Instead of sterile classrooms, you’ll find bright, inviting spaces with a living-room atmosphere. We firmly believe that when you feel comfortable, you speak more – and learn faster.

Whether in the classroom or from the comfort of your home, speakeasy Vienna offers both in-person (Intensive Courses) and online courses (German Courses Online). Our flexible lesson times from 9:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. make it easy to fit learning German around work, studies, or family.

Our groups are intentionally small – a maximum of 14 participants – so everyone has plenty of speaking time and our teachers can respond individually to questions. For even more personalized support, we also offer one-on-one lessons.

Thanks to our speakeasy Campus App, you have all your courses, exams, homework, and interactive grammar and vocabulary exercises at your fingertips – all for free. You can even check your exam results in the app, and our team is always available to help with any questions.

At speakeasy, all courses are taught by experienced, qualified language trainers. Many have learned several foreign languages themselves and know exactly how adults can learn German efficiently. Even complex grammar structures are explained clearly, understandably, and in a practical way.

We are an official examination center where you can take telc and ÖSD exams at all levels and earn an internationally recognized language certificate.

Our school is located in the heart of Vienna and is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle, or car
– even from surrounding areas. Around the school, you’ll find numerous cafés, restaurants, and sights
– perfect for exploring the city and practicing German in real-life situations with fellow students.
